Topper

I was just wondering - who is Topper? does 'ttt' mean 'To The Top'? And what does that mean?

I find myself laughing out loud whenever I see Topper's posting - just wanted to know if anyone could shed some light.

p.s. I suspect I'm about to get flamed...

"topping" a post makes it more prominent since it gets it back to the top of the list (and, I suppose, makes a response more likely..do folks here have very short attention spans????) as I have just done with yours.

Don't worry, I'm 22 and I think of the Topper movies when I see that word! Love those films.

Is there some kind of FAQ on Fodor's with frequently used abbreviations? There should be.

Of course. You are very fortunate your great grandmother was an avid televidion watcher to know such valuable trivia. Starspinners, you are the TV Trivia champion for today. Unfortunately, there are no prizes except for the knowledge that you have not killed too many brain cells in your life. Congratulations.

Why thank you, Maitaitom
My husband tells me I have a head full of trivia... I choose to consider that a compliment.

Why do I keep thinking of a dog named Cleo on Topper? What show is that from?

"What show is that from?"

Cleo, I believe , was the bassett hound on the old Jackie Cooper show "Hennessy (sp)." I obviously wasted my childhood watching all these shows.

Of course I wasted my childhood, I spelled basset with two t's. I knew I shouldn't have skipped spelling class.

Ummm... or was it "People's Choice" that had Cleo the Bassethound? I'm not sure.
I think maybe great grandpapa watched that whilst great grandmama was watching Topper.

Actually starspinners is the winner...did some research jackie Cooper (who my Dad met when he was in the service...Jackie was only 14) is the lead, but the show's name is People's Choice!!
