Crikey, never known the number of the embassy in any country and while in the odd country I have checked out the number for the best ambulance service and the nearest English speaking police but only in some really odd countries. I doubt you need to do this in Europe (though maybe the Crimea).. But it makes you think, since I normally end up in the countryside.
