To/From Greece
My friend and I will be in Italy in October. We plan to visit Greece in the beginning of November for about two weeks. In mid November, we plan to fly to Madrid, Spain.
Does anyone know of the cheapest and safest way to get from Italy to Greece and/or to get from Greece to Madrid? We've done some research on ferries and airlines, but most were expensive. We prefer to leave the southern part or Rome Area of Italy to the Athens or Patras area of Greece. Also, we have to get back from Greece to Madrid. So far based on our research, it seems as if Athens, Greece is the major and most expensive in Greece.

There are ferries from Venice, Bari, Brindisi and Ancona across to Patras and Igoumenitsa in Greece, then you take a bus or train the rest of the way into Athens.

Flying is of course faster, and Aegean Airlines is a Greek company that flies to Rome and Milan. They have internet booking. If you keep checking their website you might come across some discounts for November. If not now, then soon.
"it seems as if Athens, Greece is the major and most expensive in Greece." For what? That's unclear.
Check with http://www.myair.com/docs/cust/en/index.shtml to see if there are any available cheap flights from Bari to Athens when you plan to travel.

Has anyone on Supefast ferries with the deck seat? I can't seem to find any pictures of it on the website. Anyone want to share his/her experience from Bari to Patras or Igoum on the deck seat? After the ferries, were there complications getting from the port to Athens?
