kerouac, correct me if I'm wrong ... but the wire service reports I am reading on the Nov. 13 strike say it will start at 8 pm on the 13th, not the 12th ... if this is indeed the case, there shouldn't be any problem for people traveling on the 12th or early on the 13th.

Kerouac's new thread on the November strikes can be found at:

Earlier in this thread, I described our trip from Avignon to Paris two days after the October 18 "one day" strike. In that posting, I promised I'd soon put up a Trip Report about our three-week stay in Bonnieux. I've now done so, and you can find it at:

Just wanted to add my experience to the thread. My fiance and I arrived in Paris on 10/19. We had planned to take the RoissyBus in from CDG, but due to the strike, ended up on the Air France bus. We bought tickets to Gare Montparnasse because we were staying in the 15th (budget hotel). It took us two hours to get to the first stop, Gare de Lyon, and the bus driver announced that he wasn't going to Montparnasse due to traffic, so we checked to see which Metro lines were running and managed to get close to our hotel. It was a bit of a headache.
Then, we went out to try to see some things, and most of the museums had closed early due to the strike.
Later in our stay, we had planned to go to the Loire Valley, but scrapped due to lack of confidence in the train service (it was spotty). We did make it out to Disneyland Paris as planned, though - the RER A line was running great that day.
Also, our overnight train to Munich went as scheduled...no issues there.
Thanks kerouac for all your updates - you have been quite helpful.

Anyone overly concerned about travelling to Paris in the midst of the public sector worker's strike?
