To ST. TROPEZ via boat from Nice--details, please?

Thinking about doing this in late June to avoid the traffic...
I need these questions answered in order to decide if it's worth it for us.

How long is the ride?
How often do boats run?
How much does it cost?
How do you get to a good beach when you get there?

Should we consider taking a train instead?
(If so, same questions apply!)

I would really appreciate ANY insight!

Thank you!
Dina

This used to be a difficult trip done by bus and boat over several hours, but I have heard that there is new much faster service available. Have you tried contacting your hotel about it? I just can't think where to direct you for more information. Sorry!

I think this boat is still in operation:

www.trans-cote-azur.com/ang/tca.html

and perhaps they can answer your questions in a somewhat authoritative way

Weadles, thanks. That's actually great advice. I'll contact our hotel's concierge to get some insight.

Coco- Thanks, also. That's a great website. It seems as though the excursion to St. Tropez is an all day affair, though, and if that's the case, I'm starting to think it's not a great idea. Maybe better to save St. Tropez for another trip....

Unfortunately, there's no train that goes to St-Tropez. There's boat service also from St-Raphael.
