To Gardyloo-you've got a fan!

Hi Gardyloo, We are going on a Med cruise in June and I found an old trip report by you. It's about Israel, Europeans and travel and ofcourse cruising. I really think its the most thoughtful and thought provoking post I have seen on Fodors ever! I agree with your views on shore excursions and have decided to tackle all our ports with a combination of trains, taxis and hop on/off buses, and armed with info from the internet and guide books. I could also relate to what you were saying about Israel before the intifada and after. We were last there in June of 2000. I have many friends who have been since then and the changes you, (and they)speak about make me sad. It really did seem hopeful in 2000. Anyway, if you have any other pearls of wisdom about cruising on the Mediterranean please pass them on. Even if you don't, I love the way you write, anything you put down here will be enrtertaining, if not informative. Thanks in advance. Mary

Count me in as a Gardyloo fan. I LOVED his report of when they were in France and the sleeping car got disconnected from the dining car. It was a gem! Jan (twina49)

OK, I hate to gush, but for Gardyloo I will. His account of an overheated Russian airplane is one of the funniest things I have ever read.

May I be so bold as to share that I am a fan of LoveItaly and the gravy man himself, Gravysandwich.

Thanks for letting me but in!

Happy Wednesday evening to everyone.

Scarlett, when I couldn't sleep last night I actually thought when I was here, "I wonder if Scarlett can sleep tonight..." because I know you suffer from the same occasionally. I feel your pain!

Fellow insomniacs unite.

Hi Cigalechanta,

The gravyman is "gravysandwich". New here as of recent months, but just gave a glowing trip report from his adventures with his wife & little five year old, Samuel, from their trip to Italy. Read it, it is lovely.

Our sweet little Scarlett, just mentioned a couple times that sleep does not always come easy, I could be wrong, so Scarlett please forgive if I misunderstood, but that was my impression. I felt for her!

I found his two, before he left but not a trip report(boo-hoo) do you have it?
My SIL often travelled with her young one to many places I have not been.

My ears were burning! Someone was talking about me!
Yes, I do have trouble sleeping lately, but it is mostly just because we are selling our house and getting ready for a big move, so I have a lot to think about~
Mimi, can we not share?
Now off to read about hot Russian airplanes

Hey cigalechanta & zwho,

Just type 'gravysandwich' in search and it will come up. I just did it. I tried to get the link to put it here, but it didn't work for me.
I'm sorry, maybe someone can teach me how to do that!

Hi Scarlett, not talking ABOUT you, more sympathizing with you!

May you have peaceful dreams!

There it is, and now I know how to do it, thank you!!!

Say, Scarlett, wanted to also mention to you, I used to live in Seattle, and have been, what I will call "through" Oregon. I found it to be a LOVELY state. So green and the ocean, wonderfully lovely and not "overdone" say like California. I believe Oregon to be a gem of a state, a hidden secret. I hope you will like it there.

It's not working for me, I am hopeless

I did what you said, Scarlett, I opened the thread, but when I click on the title and try to copy it, it just keeps opening it again, I even tried to right click, thinking that was it, but no joy.

Hopeless.
