Yes. In my wildest dreams, I imagine entering the "hospitality" industry* someday, and treating my customers with respect... not expecting THEM to do these three jobs expected of management in every (other) service industry:
1. employeee performance evaluation
2. compensation research
and
3. development of appropriate employee recruiting and retention programs
In general, the hospitality industry does this for only half its employees, and expects the customers to do the rest.
Pity. We ought to present a bill to the management for completing the other half for them.
*Footnote: (the "hospitality" industry - - as opposed to the <i><u>hospital</u></i> industry - - where there is embarrassingly little <i>hospitality</i>!)
