Time to travel from Orly to Gare Montparnasse

Hello,
Flying into Orly with OpenSkies, Premier Seating. Landing at 8:40 AM, hope to get bags and pass through Customs quickly. Will get a taxi to get to Massy. I am trying to catch 10:29 train to Bordeaux. There is an option on the ticket to exchange it for a fee though not sure if it works if I am late. Is it too risky or 1 hour and 40 min enough time? Next train is at 11:30 which is 2hour 50 min

Catching a train in Massy or in Montparnasse. The former might be possible, the latter unlikely.

Hi Michael,
I thought Massy was abbreviation for Montparnasse. What is Massy?

Massy is a town outside Paris used as a transfer point for the RER and TGV. Its full name might actually be Massy-Palaiseau.

Massy has nothing to do with Montparnasse. It's a suburb of Paris. At any rate, no, an hour and 40 minutes is definitely not enough time to get from Orly to the Gare Montparnasse to catch a train. I'd budget three hours. But I'd also look into transferring to Orly to Roissy and catching direct TGV from CDG to Bordeaux (and getting PREM tickets if you're not too late to do so), but I'd allow 3 hours for that exercise also.

Check google map to see how far Massy is from Orly and the estimated time between the two points.

Thank you Fodorites for the input. I did look at google map, it would take 15-16 min to get from Orly to Massy, buying ticket for later train, Massy schedule.

You probably would be able to make the original train unless your plane is very late.
