Thanks, folks! I really love the Italian Riviera - it's a place I'm sure I'll get back to if I can.
Still working on the France portion and pictures. Unfortunately, it won't be as interesting as this part in Italy...

Andrew, sorry for the delay responding. I do appreciate your input. I love detailed TRs because it really helps my planning to hear others' impressions.

Just stumbled upon this TR looking for ideas for next November. Grabbed a cheap open jaw NCE/FIU and will likely do a few days in Provence and a couple in Rome. Any idea about how interesting the OTHER trail near Camogli might be? I'm not taking the one you documented.

Ha ha - I don't blame you for skipping the difficult hike I took!
No, I don't know anything about the alternate trail between San Rocco and San Fruttuoso. But if you research it, look for information for the one that does NOT go via batterie.
There are plenty of other trails in the area e.g. I hear the trail between Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino is pretty easy.
