Three days in London - how to get around town
We will be at the Rembrandt Hotel for 3 days - Saturday, Sunday and Monday in October, and want to pack in as much as possible. What is the best and cheapest mode of transport?. We will have a 3-day London pass without transportation included. Can we buy an economical public transport ticket at Heathrow? Thanks so much for your help.

The best way is to travel is by tube or bus, you can buy a one day or 3 day travel cards.Travel before 9:30 weekdays will be a peak fare. Have a look at the following link for prices, you can also print of tube maps from this page.

I'm kinda surpised that someone hasn't rolled in with the usual low-self-esteem-generated intimidation language about how you are some sort of moron for using that "dark hole" called the tube when you can use the busses and "see where you are going."
Fortunately, the Travelcards allow you to do both. One thing about the busses: when they are caught up in London's congestion you get all sorts of opportunities to see where you are going, again, and again, and again, and very, very slowly.

You might like to look at both tube and bus options at:

You will probably get the better financial deal if you treat the trips to and from Heathrow as one-off single journeys, and get travelcards for the central zones 1 and 2.
