The last ticket available on Saturdays for the Sagrada Familia is at 5:15 pm. The earliest Saturday ticket is for 9:00 am.
The tickets sell out as I'm seeing them today, about 10 days in advance. For May 11, there are only 2 ticket left and they are for the 5 pm slot.
If you're aiming for the first 9 am opening slot on any day, it's advisable to book very well in advance, as in even a month in advace for this slot.
The Picasso Museum is free from May 2 to October 31 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 pm until 9 pm and on the first Sunday of every month.
From November 1 to April 30, it's free on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 4 pm until 7 pm and on the first Sunday of every month.

Maribel. Thanks for your reply. We depart Madrid for Seville Monday Oct 7.Not the worst thing if we have to change in Cordoba on the AVE, but I will look at the Italian option too.
Just checking myself to make sure I had the info correct
We will probably catch the 11:50am train as we like to move at a leisurely pace. Since Renfe does not list it do you have any idea how long the connection time is in Cordoba..is it a rush thing or do we have ample time to change trains?

For your Madrid to Sevilla Monday, Oct. 7 departure, there is an AVE at 11:05 and. another at 11:53. Those fares have already been loaded on www.renfe.com.
You have 4 choices of fares:
Basic (economy) with no seat selection and non-refundable,
Elige (with one free change),
Elige Confort (with more leg room, slightly larger seat, a 2-1 seat configuration in the former preferente cars)
Premium (same type of seat and seat configuration as Elige Confort and a complimentary meal and beverages served at your seat and unlimited changes and 95% refundable or 100% refundable 7 days after ticket purchase ).
We choose Elige Confort or Premium.
Premium ticket holders have access to the newly renovated Sala Club (VIP) departure lounge with free snacks and drinks and Wifi at Puerta de Atocha, but only 90 minutes prior to train departure. This is a plus if one arrives early and needs a little rest and pick-me-up, because there just isn't any seating to speak of in the Atocha Planta 1 departure hall. Seriously no seating.
We did snag seats to have coffee, but at the Rodilla Café beyond the entrance to the Sala Club lounge, at the far right end of the departures hall.
There is no train change in Córdoba. The AVE just stops there for about 2 minutes.
The difference between the 11:05 train and the 11:53 is that the latter makes 2 intermediate stops in Puertollano and Ciudad Real, thus the ride is 9 minutes longer.
The advantage of the 11:53 is that it begins in Madrid, so there may be more luggage space in the small compartments at the end of each car and luggage space above the seats.
The 11:05 train begins in Barcelona with many stops along the way, so it will probably be more crowded.
The next AVE departs at 1 pm.
We just did this run but on the new Italian IRYO, whose departure times may or may not be as convenient for you. And Iryo doesn't have a VIP lounge in Atocha. It's across the street in the Only You Atocha hotel and doesn't open until 9:30 am.
On our 3 rides on IRYO we chose the more expensive Infinita Bistro fare, with a choice of meals served at our seat, a welcome glass of cava, then a cup of consomé wine or other beverage served with the meal and chocolates, and high speed WiFi and a large selection of movies, tv shows, magazines to pass away the time.
(We drove from home so didn't need lounge access)
