This site is in the worst mess EVER now!

This Fodors message board has been a huge headache and mess for weeks now but this is the worst! Can't read any posts or even see the threads. Get the fodors at work logo all over in the frames and then finally it loads with 4 left hand frame tops but nothing else.
You can post 'em but you can't read or see 'em! Get to work Fodors.

You're right, this forum is one big mess just now. It simply requires too much patience to operate so I will check back in a month or so to see if things have been corrected. And that's what I said (and did) about 3 weeks ago.

On the US forum, the conclusion seems to be that the board is in the twilight zone. The whole situation has become ludicrous. First Fodors tries to implement a more complex system, one full of bells and wyistles. It lays a good sized turkey egg. Then, they reinstall the old system, but the troops cannot make the old version work either.
So given that they cannot do the latter, how in the world could they expect the former to work right?
Beats the you know what out of me.
I am not complaining. No way.
I just am surprised at the sequence of events.

Yep, its near useless here. In fact I am surprized that I could read this thread. (after 3rd try)

Seems like there's probably some off the shelf SW they can buy that would run better right out of the box.
Hey, it's not ALL bad though. I just made a post and -- kaching! kaching! -- got $50 in quarters from my CD-ROM drive! Way to go, Fodors!

What gets me is their error message says they may be "feverishly" working on that part of the site.

Take an aspirin, get over the fever and fix the *!@%$ website.

Sure, I have had technical problems using this site. However, I have not yet received a bill from Fodors for using the site. Has anyone else? How can we complain and threaten to "take our business elsewhere" when we have not really brought our business here?
I am confident that Fodors will fix the technical problems and I am appreciative of their efforts to date. They are trying to provide us a very valuable tool - for NO COST. How can I, or anyone else, complain??

Larry, I agree. If my best friend was a lousy cook I would still go to dinner because I enjoy the company. Fodors is having some problems but I love them anyway. When I see that big ole blue eye peering over the "I'm sorry....." I don't take no for an answer and keep trying until the thread comes up.

Here's a cute and paste from the "Horrors!" thread. We have not been abandoned
-------
Author: Editors ([email protected])
Date: 4/23/2001, 11:27 am ET

Message: Dear Travel Talk Users:

The error messages you saw over the weekend were caused by a server
malfunction, but Fodors.com technical staff has since corrected the problem.

In other news, we're still working on the Forums software, and we'll keep you
apprised of our progress.

Again, thanks for your patience.

Best,

Aisling Brennan
Senior Producer

Dave Downing
Forums Coordinator
