thefork.com

I just discovered this website. It's a bit like opentable.com for France. It includes reviews, photos, maps and you can make reservations online. Some restaurants even offer discounts. Search by city, arrondisement, neighborhood, restaurant type, price point, cuisine....

I've seen lots of positive comments on thefork, but haven't used it myself.

I did use this one my last trip to Paris.

I've used it twice recently. Worked just fine. One had an offer and it was automatically honored without having to mention anything at the restaurant so that's nice. However, unlike opentable for the US, I seldomly find the restaurants that interest me on lafourchette/thefork.

I've used thefork.com several times and everything has worked very smoothly.

When I am looking for a restaurant in a certain arrondissement, I sort the results in the order of customer reviews and look at the most highly-rated places first.

The listings are useful because they show which places are listed in the Michelin or Gault Millau guides as well as hours, prices, etc.

oh patty - not even le crillon? their lunch-time menu is only €68 so with 40% off, it's a steal.

almost worth making a special trip for, I should think!

Are you sure it includes the lunch special? It says "hors menu".

What I meant is that it seems a larger percentage of restaurants are on opentable. I don't often find that I need to call to make a reservation, at least where we live. I think we like to automate things here.

Or if it's not on opentable, it's on urbanspoon. The smaller places seem to prefer the latter.
