When in doubt about the food and if I have time, I try to buy (before the flight) a wonderful Deli sandwich with lots of onions, olive oil and vinegar on it.

I then whip it out on board and everyone practically dies of envy. shame on me.

The best food is always the orange, or other items rescued from my refrig., that I carry on myself. The meals are never exactly "good". Yet I'd miss them if they didn't keep coming, because they give me something to do with my hands, mouth, and eyes. Maybe the airlines should distribute arts and crafts materials or puzzles 3x during the flight instead. It would serve the same entertaining purpose, with less salt, fat, and risk of GI infection, and exercise the imagination a little more as well.

Maureen, if there are lots of onions (and garlic?) on that sandwich, it may not be envy everyone else is dying of!
