Is this a joke? Nobody wears white in europe! No, you can't fool me with this one!

It got mixed reviews, but has been a popular attraction in London.

See it in London, especially if the ticket price is cheaper; it will almost certainly be more expensive on Broadway.

I saw the show in September, and I have mixed feelings about it. I've never been a big fan of Lloyd Webber?s music, and this show did nothing to make me change my mind. (That's just a personal preference, and I recognize that many people disagree with it, so if you're one of them, ignore my opinion.) I thought the best song in the show was a comic number which Michael Crawford performs while a live white rat (at least, I think it's live, judging from its antics the night I saw the show) scampers back and forth across his shoulders. Crawford, by the way, is unrecognizable from his days as the Phantom of the Opera: he wears a fat suit and speaks in a "stage Italian" accent, saying things like "The plot, she thickens." The actors who play the romantic leads are pretty, and they sing well, I just wish they had been given more interesting music to sing. Edward Petherbridge (a personal favorite of mine) is very good in the too-small role of the heroines' uncle.


The "sets" are interesting, consisting mainly of very realistic-looking projections on blank walls, which makes changes of scene possible in the blink of an eye. And the interior of the Palace Theatre, which has recently been renovated, is stunning.

At this point in my life in Florida, I would see it, good reviews or not

I keep wondering how many people will get mixed up and end up with tickets to the long running "The Woman in Black" instead of "The Woman in White".
