The Secret Itineraries Tour

Hello,
I have tried calling the number I found on various Fodor's posts to reserve this tour, however I get a busy signal no matter when I call. Does anyone know if there is a way to fax a reservation request, or to email one? We will not be there until June 23rd, how early does this tour book up? Would it be feasible to wait until we arrive in Italy on June 15th to make our reservation for the 23rd or will it likely be full by then. Thank you so much!

You might try having your hotel book your reservation for you. That's what I did. I'll be back by the time you leave so I will let you know how it turned out! There is only one english tour a day and it is around 10:00 am I think.

Hi TA,

Are you calling between 0800 and 1130 or 1400 to 1630 Florence time?

Hi ira
Yes, I stayed up to 1am last night Denver time (mountain time zone), and so I think it would have been 9am in Venice... but still a busy signal. Strange. I sent my hotel an email requesting that they make the reservation but have not heard from them either. Not having much luck with this at all I guess!

I actually just booked this tour for May 24th and didn't have too much difficulty getting through. I know that they don't accept or having anything set up to receive a fax or e-mail request. But just to double check, are you dialing: 011-39-041-520-9070? As it happens, I found out that they have more than 1 english speaking tour a day - or at least they did for the day I booked it. As someone else mentioned, I do believe your hotel should be able to do this for you. But don't give up. I'm sure you'll get through eventually. I do think at that time of year if you have your heart set on doing this tour you should try to reserve the space in advance.

When I was in Venice in March, my daughter and I walked right up to the desk and made reservations for a tour leaving an hour later. There appeared to be several English tours per day. I imagine reservations might be necessary at more crowded times of the year, but possibly they would still be available when you arrived in Venice for some time during the week. Just in case you have no luck getting through before then.

We took the tour last summer and really enjoyed it.

It is very informative and some of the "behind the scenes" rooms look to be in the same condition as when the palace was built.

This may not be any help, but just in case; when I phone Italy (from the UK), instead of the usual ringing tone I hear beeps which sound like the busy signal. They do in fact indicate that the phone is ringing. On hearing the busy signal have you stayed on the line long enough for someone to answer? If not it might be worth a try.

Hi,
I e-mailed them last year in August for a tour in October. I e-mailed them at [email protected] They initially sent me a e-mail stating only a limited number of tickets are available and would notify me if tickets were available for the date I selected. Within two weeks they had e-mailed me back with a ticket confirmation and directions. Hope this works for you. It was a very enjoyable tour.

Hi again!

I am so sorry ,I was thinking of the Scavi Tour in Rome. I went on the Secret Itineraries Tour also and I just called for reservations. I don't recall having any trouble reaching them. Good Luck
