The Long Night of Museums - Austria

Hi,

I just found out about this event that is taking place in Austria.

--------------------------------------

From the website http://www.langenacht.at/index.php?id=740

Date: 7th October 2006, 6 p.m to 1 a.m

Visit 500 museums in Austria with one ticket only! The route of a hop-on-hop-off bus service connects the various places of interest.

Ticket price:
EUR 12,- (regular ticket)
EUR 10,- (reduced price for Ö1-Club members, for school children, students, senior citizens, handicapped persons and for males in their obligatory term of military or civilian service)

Tickets: available at the Museum Information Point or directly at the museums participating in this programme.

--------------------------------------

Just thought I'd post for anyone interested in going or if anyone who has attened in previous years could offer some feedback?

Thanks!

Wow--sounds like (hectic) fun! Although the info books are only in German, I downloaded three of them as good general guides to the museums in Vienna, Salzburg and Graz.

Thanks for posting!

These long nights now become a regular thing.
Last week was the Long Night of Music.Same price and format with a bus between various venues until 1 AM. Bus can get crowded. In some cases easier to walk as many places are close to each other.

More than 50,000 attended .

A fun evening - inexpensive way to view things- the people usually very friendly-

Yah, I had read about the Long Night of Music as well. What city did you attend it in? I'll be in Salzburg for the Museum one.
