Update time

Re 255 euro ...not sure the break up ...pretty sure no breakfast was included and I assume they charged me for the kids but it was def 255 ... Regardless ...I am just so thankful they allowed me to ship out and not be further charged and since then have been given this great place! Just lucky I guess! Hopefully because of this people will look into their choices more carefully!

Today we took our trip to Luxembourg ...well train/bus ...yes it was a long travel day but because the place meant something to me it was worth the hassle! What a gorgeous place ..I am sure there a closer connections to get there and highly recommend others to visit this beautiful place.

We basically only did a brief highlighted tour.

As you get off the bus and walk into the city you pass through a few shops so we had a little look ...we then went down the lift to the old town for lunch... Cute little place on the corner across the street for little snacks and they had wifi!

We saw the little tourist train and decided we would do that with the kids so we went to the golden lady and bought tickets for a one hr Tain ride ... Good way to cover the areas quickly but the tour itself/guide wasn't very good ... Didn't say what we were passing really.

Anyway from here we then made our through the main sites and looked at the luxury shops ... No purchases this time ... Then homeward bound.

If you asked my kids about Luxembourg they would talk about the spinning playground and the elephants...that's right elephants! They had this gorgeous art display of painted baby elephants throughout the city so it became a fun way for the kids to explore the city ... Got gorgeous photos from it that's for sure!

Anyway home now .... Ready for Offenburg tomorrow! Still can't believe this trip is coming to an end!

Took that little train ride in Luxembourg a couple of years ago. You're right - very disappointing - no commentary. Sorry I didn't think to warn you.

newtome why! I wish this trip never ended! So today we set off to Offenburg ... Cute place but I wouldn't bother anyone to go there ... It had meaning to us but if it didn't it would of felt like a waste of a day! Nice cheap lunch though!

From here we went to a new place pronounced like vesper but spelt with a w ... In Frankfurt...about 20mins out!

Omg! Wish I had known about this little gem! Would of much rather stayed here then Frankfurt city that's for sure! Gorgeous place... Fantastic playground ...delicious tapas ar and the whole vibe was just sensational! Again could be the company we had but still great location if you fly out from Frankfurt!

Tomorrow is homeward bound I've checked in ... Fingers cross it all goes to plan

Correct spelling is Wesper? I can't find it on the map. We stayed in Frankfurt before flight and would rather find a place like this.

I love Wiesbaden (lovely opera house) and the nearby city of Mainz.... For me, a nice alternative to staying in Frankfurt (which leaves me a bit cold).

Home safe n sound! Yep you guessed the place! Highly recommend you stay here and day trip to Frankfurt city if you must...gorgeous place and the trains seem to run from here to everywhere you want to go and it's just as close to the airport! Much better!

So we ended on a high! Novatel charged us only 60euros a night for the 2 rooms...not sure how or why but we just smiled and said that was great and paid in cash so it was a great way to end the trip.

From the late night the kids were a dream on the planes and slept pretty much the entire time.

Again can not fault Thai airways!

Now shoppers ... I have done a lot of tax free shopping over the years and never did I have the process that Frankfurt airport uses so let me share....

If your tax free is not hand luggage but stuff you want to check in...make it all be together..why??? Because you have to first check in with your airline and while you are checking in you tell them you have tax free shopping you wish to claim/custom stamp and so after check in with your boarding pass you then line up with the customs people...now for us this took over an hour!!! Normally it takes 10mins max so we were surprised! From here they stamp your receipts and then take your luggage from you and they put it with the rest on your plane ...they are making sure it leaves the country so they tell me... Then you go to another line to collect your funds. It's right next door. So a lengthy process ...for us at least ...we then had to clear security and then board our plane ... It took us 2hrs to sort so we were glad we gave ourselves that time..it was meant for last minute shopping but that's ok...I shopped enough

In regards to aus customs ... As we travelled with 2 kids it meant we could bring $4000 tax free back ...so it was fine for those who were worried.

Now I am on the search for a good photo book company ...I have been recommended momento ...oh and also planning our next getaway ..3years time..3weeks... The debate will be 3weeks one country or one week sarlat or Uzes, one week Barcelona or somewhere else in Spain, one week Varenna ... But hey I have three years to sort that out!

Thank you to everyone who helped create this dream...I have loved every moment...even the lows and your help along the way made it so much easier. I hopefully will figure out how to share the photos and when I do I will post the link. Till then goodnight everyone!
