The Hague after 5 pm
I'll be in the Hague next week for business meetings. We'll stay in the Golden Tulip (as arranged by our customer).
What can I do after 5 pm? Museums are closed at 5 and no flower gardens are open any more.
Can I see windmills close by?
I'll be there Wednesday at 11 am and will leave Saturday morning. Meetings are Thrusday and Friday.

Hop the tram to Scheveningen (sp?) Den Haag's seaside section and lively at night in summer - also a casino if that's your bag.
bring a picnic cop a bench and watch the sunset over the North Sea - gorgeous beaches - lots of cafes, restaurants
Central Hague like most Dutch towns is a ghost town IME after stores close around 7pm

Are you in the Golden Tulip bel Air Hotel (Johan de Witt-laan)?
If so, this hotel is in a mixed office/residential-zone. A few minutes from the hotel is a tram-stop for line 1 (Scheveningen-Delft). It gives a direct connection to both the beach (Scheveningen), the city-center of The Hague and further to the city-center of Delft. To Scheveningen and The Hague is both about 10 min. To Delft it is about 30 min.
Also there is another tram-stop for line 17 and 10. They both also go to the city.
In Scheveningen there a dozen of restaurants (a lot directly on the beach), a large movie-complex, a casino, the theatre for the musical Tarzan (http://www.musicals.nl/jetp/misc/962_1012.htm), a shopping center which is open late and a Sea Life aquarium.
In the city-center of The Hague there are also multiple movie-theaters (Buitenhof, Spui), shops open till 21.00u on Thursday, a lot of restaurants and bars (Buitenhof, Plein, Groter Markt).
The same goes for Delft.
In the vincinity of the hotel (although not very easy to reach by public-transport, but only 5 minutes by taxi) is Madurodam (www.madurodam.nl). This is a miniature city, with a lot of famous Dutch buildings on a smaller scale. They are open till 20.00.
Can't think of any windmills in the direct vincinity of the hotel and/or The Hague which are worth visiting.

When the weather is good, and there are plenty restaurants and cafes with terraces packed with people in both Scheveningen (Boulevard and directly on the beach) and The Hague (Buitenhof, Plein, Grote Markt). Delft also has some nice squares (Beestenmarkt, Markt) with a lot of restaurants and cafes.

It's a pretty good hotel. The area around it, isn't special (more hotels, convention-center, offices, residential). But it is considered a good and safe neighbourhood. There are some nice streets with some shops and restaurants near the hotel (Valeriusstraat, Ferederik Hendrik Laan etc).
Almost next to the hotel are a few good museums; Museon, Gemeentemuseum. And a IMAX-screen; Omniversum. But they are only opne during the day I believe.
