The AMEX settlement
Two or three? years ago I submitted information about the use of my AMEX outside of the U.S. for which I had evidently been charged some undisclosed fees - it was a class action settlement. I think others on this forum also reponded to this - did anyone ever receive anything?

I was thinking about that the other day. I recall pulling out records, making copies and sending them in (about an hour's worth of work) because it sounded like I might actually get something back.
Much later, I think I heard something about the settlement that sounded much less promising than what "my" lawyers had sent me initially.
So within the last few weeks I started thinking, "Did I ever get something from that?" I really don't think so. Maybe I discarded the check, thinking it was junk mail, without opening.

From what I can determine, people who received checks got them in January of 2009. They were mailed in non-descript envelopes, and I for one probably through away my envelope without opening it, thinking it was junk mail.
And that is the way they wanted it. Don't know if any uncashed checks eventually went back to the company, the court, or the attorneys, but c'est la vie.
