Thanks to Rex!

Rex, we returned from our trip to Rome last week where we stayed at the Albergo del Senato on your recommendation. We were thrilled with this hotel and would definitely stay there again. Excellent location, wonderful staff, and beautiful rooms. Thank you!

And I'd like to thank Rex for last week's post on an airfare sale at bestfares.com. Although I'm unable to travel until after the new year, making it impossible to take advantage of the $599 business class round-trip to Europe, I will be going mid-January for under $500 round-trip in coach. (The city where I reside has no non-stops to Rome, so I'm changing planes using the same airline here in the States.) Both Rex and a friend of mine recommended bestfares.com

BC

I am eager to hear good experiences and bad about bestfares.com as I have not used them personally. But I do place a certain amount of trust in the opinions provided on the cheap Flights forum of www.eurotrip.com - - and they seem to endorse them, even if with perhaps a bit of an "eyes open" stance.
I'll be happy to let you know after my return at the end of January. Based on using their web site, and their phone personnel, they were pretty knowledgeable and reasonably personable. They were even able to give me a seat assignment, so I'm hoping my expectations are too high, but I'm going into the whole thing so far with a positive reaction.

BC

I assume that you got to know the name of the airline before you committed, times, connections, etc.

And no odd things like no FF miles, hopefully?
Yes, Bill, I have all that info, plus all the paperwork that proves I'm e-ticketed. If I were a FF with this particular airlines, I'd be getting FF points, but alas, I am not. I've flown this particular airline domestically once before (and everything was fine), but not internationally. (The domestic flight I booked directly on my own several years ago.)

BC
