I just wanted to thank everyone on the boards who gave such wonderful advice when planning our trip to the Dordogne region. I had wanted to go there for almost 20 years (thanks to St Cirq on the old AOL travel boards!). We loved every moment....especially driving off the main roads and finding ourselves in little villages that took us back centuries.
So thank you all....we stayed in Sarlat at Les Cordeliers and loved that as a base. We were there in early October and had most sites to ourselves. Amazing.
So thanks again all of you....your advice really helped make our trip as wonderful as we had hoped.

We toured The Dordogne from Sarlat in Sept.'12 and I agree that the Fodorites were a major part in our planning.

Glad you had a good trip. We are visiting next year and looking forward to it. It is also rewarding for those who gave advice to know that it was worth it. Often people do not come back after their trip to give feedback on how it went. So well done.
