Thank You Fodors Contributors
Every couple of years I stumble across a web site that just captures my interest and holds my attention continually. I found this site while, you guessed it, planning for a family trip to Europe. Mind you this trip has been on my list of things to do for over 20 years. Some thought has actually gone into where I want to go and what I want to see looooong before I ever found this board.
I spent a couple of weeks "lurking" before jumping into posting so I had an idea as to how to approach a topic before I wrote. I actually figured out how to "search" a topic by reading other posts which often refer to doing searches. I understood that some questions met a certain fate if they were not formulated correctly. I also saw the humor many questions elicited when carelessly asked from personel experience. It helps to have a sense of humor and to be able to laugh at yourself.
All that having been said, I can read alot of books, posts, reviews, etc... and find I have alot more questions that this forum and the posters here are ideally suited to answer. And for that I am grateful.
Anonimity is part of the reason this forum works, people feel more free to express what they really think. The world is made up of all sorts. Those that have difficulty with that fact are not suited for world travel and if this forum helps someone figure that out then it is successful. Altrnatively, this forum can inspire those of us that have a wanderlust for travel experiences and when we do take off for the wonderful places we dream of this board is successful. Thank you everyone for enduring some of my more mundane or inane posts and questions as so many of you have responded and provided mosst valuable information even if it is to tell me the answer is obvious.
Looking forward to a long and happy friendship with the "Fodors Family".

That's true most of the time. Sometimes, when they express what they really, really think, they thread disappears.
Before registration, which was a few years ago, it was more contentious.

OK I will admit it, the "lounge has become one of my guilty pleasures! Even when it gets heated though I try to keep it civil. I do like a passionate arguement. Raised in a family of lawyers was I.
