In any case the SNCF is heavily advertising "Amsterdam in 3h18, Cologne in 3h14" so people are on the way!

Well this Sunday Thalys will officially be 'up to speed'!

and yes 3 h 18 min is the listed time

The first trip didn't get off to a good start
It was 6 minutes late leaving Amsterdam, and further delayed for 30 minutes by the safety system at the Belgian border. It did manage to go at 300km/h from Rotterdam though.

Bad news is the price also goes up. 10-20% for normal tickets and as much as 40% on special offer tickets.
