Thalys - buy Brussels metro tickets onboard?

Can you buy metro tickets onboard the Thalys for the Brussels system..? Or any other suggestions to avoid having to linger in Gare Midi?

AFAIK, you can't. In fact you better have a ticket for Thalys before you board. It will cost you a pretty penny if you don't.....

AAFF - I'm not sure now but there were two years ago so they may not be and you could be right.

And i think, at least for 1st class passengers, you can also order up a taxi onboard to be waiting -not sure about this.

The taxi part is true, but it's not free, and that part I understood. I just did it last week. The guy was waiting for me, but it was suppose to be no higher than 21EURO to the outlying areas of Brussels and regular metered fare within Brussels. I was going to the Brussels Hilton and I admit I didn't pay attention to the fact that he didn't turn on the meter. When we got to the Hilton, he said 21EURO. I just about lost it. I asked him if I looked like a dumb tourist to him? I refused to pay and told him to call the police. He settled for 8EURO, and lost a nice tip.....

So be warned.....

Thanks, I don't think I'll be calling up a taxi... but I have bought the Paris metro tickets onboard, so was wondering about the Brussels tickets. (I will have my Thalys ticket well in advance!)
