Terezin to Melnik

We will be in Prague in October for 7 days and are planning on doing a day trip to Terezin. I had read to allow 6 hours for the trip (2 hours travel & 4 hours there) and was thinking that we might incorporate a visit to the Lobkowicz Chateau in Melnik to sample some Czech wine on the return as it looks to be about halfway between Terezin & Prague. Has anyone done this trip? If so, do you know the best method of transportation to get from Terezin to Melnik? Do both of these sound reasonable for 1 day? Thanks so much!

Hi J,

I don't think that you will be all that interested in wine tastings after visiting Terezin.

There is a journey planner which suggests various combinations of trains and buses:
www.vlak-bus.cz
Unfortunately for me, it's only in Czech, so a dictionary and map would be useful, but I found connections between Terezin and Melnik.

Sorry, I missed seeing the English and German versions of www.vlak-bus.cz - the buttons are in the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
