Tea with Mussolini ?

For anyone interested in visiting the presidential palace (- Quirinale) in Rome:

There is currently a programme of Sunday lunchtime concerts held in the Quirinale.

This is a rare opportunity to get a glimpse inside the palace - which is not normally open to visitors.

Concert programme:

11 March - Music by Haydn, Mendelssohn (- Quartetto Prometeo)

18 March - Music by Liszt, Ravel, Chopin, Stravinskij (- Mariangela Vacatello)

25 March - Music by Schumann, Ravel, Paganini (- Fabrizio von Arx, Bruno Canino)

Here's the link:

http://www.quirinale.it/palazzo/Conc...rtiPaolina.htm

The concerts are held in the Cappella Paolina on Sundays and are broadcast live on RAI.

Starting time: 12.00. Arrive early.

Cappella Paolina (- in Italian):

Tea with the president may ... or may not ... be served

The president's name is Napolitano, not Mussolini.

But there is a movie with the title "Tea With Mussolini". Cher was in it.

Good grief Steve_James, I thought Mussolini had been reincarnated..as though the Italians don't have enough political problems as it is, lol!!

That's a film to see if you are a fan of Judi Dench and Joan Plowright playing against (gulp!) Cher and Lili Tomlin.
Photographed in Rome, Florence and San Gemigrano.

Good film , if I remember ...

LoveItaly - Mussolini reincarnated? Now there's a thought ...

There is a Mussolini still in Italian politics though. His grandaughter, if I remember ...

Didn't she used to be a stripper?

Or am I confusing her with Cicciolina ...

Hi Steve, I am almost positive that Mussolini's granddaughter was never a stripper..but there was one..I remember my friends in Italy were horrified, lol! Cicciolina sounds right. Politics in Italy are never boring are they?

BTW, the Concert program sounds wonderful, wish I could be there.

Thanks Mimi, I couldn't remember who the other actresses were.
