Taxi price from CDG to Notre Dame area

With gas prices the way they are here, have things changed in Europe? We are off in the beginning of April planning to cab it to the Notre Dame area where we have rented an apt. We arrive at 11dAM . Not sure what the cab ride will cost that time of day. Want to make sure we have enough euros for the time we will be traveling.

Thanks

Probably about 50 euros with the tip.

Luggage should be taken into consideration, I understand that taxis in Paris will charge extra for each piece of luggage carried. Also on Sundays and Holidays rates go up.

They do charge extra for luggage, but it is trivial and wouldn't change the estimate in round figures. It is 1 euro each from the 2nd piece and more.

We also stay near Notre Dame. After our rough experience getting from CGD to the hotel last time (worthy of a trip report in itself, if I had been on Fodor's then) we took a taxi back to CDG and 50 euro sounds about right. IF I remember, that was for two of us, not each.

Another option we are considering when we return is taking the train to a station very close to the hotel, I think it was Montparnasse but I'm drawing a blank at the moment, then it is just a quick cab ride to your hotel.

I usually frequent the more "budget friendly" travel sites but I find this to get a complete waste of $80. It is SIMPLE to get from CDG to ND via train and SOOOooo much cheaper. Maybe if it were rush hour and you wanted to avoid the traffic of the metro. I would (and will in ~3 weeks) go via metro. There is only one connection and its not hard.

Don't take a taxi. I just got back a few days ago. I go regularly. I also rented an apartment. Use airport-connection.com van service. You pay over the computer,Visa/MC only... so you don't have to worry about paying the driver. They were perfectly on time, day before yesterday, when I had to go back to the airport....CDG. They charge 52 Euros, round trip, if you book round trip in advance....a 4 Euro savings. I booked a shared van and ended up, from and back to the airport, with a private van. My apartment was in the 6th...near Blvd. St.Michel. Happy Travels!

By the way, I arrived on a Sunday and the traffic was horrendous. Had I been in a taxi, I would have paid through the nose. I'm glad I was in a prepaid van. Happy Travels!

Guenmai, Were you in 122? We're going there next week. How was the apt?

Also was the van per person? There will be 2 of us.

Thanks
