Tauck Tours - Experiences Please

Please share your experience with Tauck Tours. Was it an enjoyable tour? Would you take another Tauck tour? Were the iternaries too packed, too slow, or just right? Basically, I'm interested in everything. Thanks for your responses.

I did a Tauck Tour of New England USA a couple of years ago with my then fiance (now hub) and my parents.

It ranks aming the top few tours I have ever been on (along with Kuoni SOuth America, and whatever company we did Alaska with when I was a teenager).

The wonderful things about TAuck:

a) tour manager: what a lovely girl. on duty all hours, worked hard, was so much fun, full of knowledge and ideas

b) itinerary: didnt try to pack too much in - always enough time to wander around

c) hotels and meals: every single hotel was exceptional, all meals (the ones included) were absolutely fantastic (and I _really_ like my gourmet food).

Anyway - have no idea what they are like in Europe, as they may be managed by a franchise for all I know.

Write for more though my parents booked so havent any real info on me

We are taking our fifth Tauck Tour to France in September. Others have been to Switzerland, Florida, Canadian Capitals,( along the St. Lawrence) and Atlantic Maritimes,( Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick). Each and every one was superb in every way...no complaints of any kind. Hotels, guides, and general itineraries packed full of places we might have missed on our own. We always have felt our tour was worth more than we paid...particularly the Switzerland tour.
My parents did several Tauck tours four or five years ago. They loved the guides, the pace, the hotels, the itineraries. The reason they stopped going with Tauck (reluctantly) is because they don't eat a lot and did not take advantage of all of the included order-off-the-menu meals. They just felt that they were paying for something and not using it. On the other hand, Tauck's meal policy is precisely what attracts many other loyal customers. (I assume the policy hasn't changed; you need to check.) My mom told me that some people on their tours were on their 20th+ Tauck tour. They must be doing something right!
