Tattoos in Europe?

My friend and i are going to Europe this summer and will be visiting London and Paris and we both have visible tattoos; she on her shoulders and myself on my leg. My question is will certain places not allow us in because of them being visible? i know this may sound like a dumb question but i just dont want to get too excited about attending a place of interest and then get rejected at the door?

I saw a few young women with tattoos in Paris and plenty in London.
I don't know how other people feel about them, since I live in NYC, it is not uncommon and I don't even notice anymore, unless there is one really pretty/bizarre one to notice
But, if you feel insecure about them, why not wear sleeves, etc to cover, just until you see how things go.It would be a shame to have something as harmless as a tattoo cause you any distress on a otherwise fun trip.
Have a good safe time!Kate

As long as your tattoos say "God Rules", they're fine with me.

On the other hand, if you have a I Love Kid Rock or Mariah Carey is the Greatest tattoo, I shall have to smite you.

Love,

God

Tattoos in Europe

A few places require Hepatitis C antibody testing before you enter. To save time you might want to go ahead and get tested in the US and bring your results with you. Of course, if your positive they won't let you in.

It appears that every other person in London either has a tatoo or body piercing. We were amazed at the amount. I don't think you will have any problem.

My husband and I both have matching tatoos and have gone all over Europe without one single problem. The only thing you might encounter, if you attempt to enter a church or cathedral and your tatoos are showing because you are wearing revealing clothing.. (short skirts... low cut, short shorts etc) you may get a weird look or two. But thats just a question of respect. You should have no problems whatsoever as long as you are polite!

There are tattoo and piercing salons in just about every city in Europe.

I would like to hear what European countries require American visitors to present medical testing results?
The problem with tattoos could only come about if you got one there and it was not a clean place. No one checks for tattoos when you enter a country!
If it is a place(church) that you might have doubts about, just wear something to cover the tattoo.

George,
You might be lucky and nothing happen. Or you might be like a few people around the world & 5, 10, 15, or 20 years later, you develop Hep C. Can be lived with if treated (so I have been told. Don't know personally).
Just make sure the needle is clean.

*LOL*!! Yeah, but the '90s are popular again. It only took a few years of the new millenium for nostalgia to set in.

Dear Uncle Sam,
I am not a porn star, NBA player, biker or stripper -- I am a systems analyst and have a rather large tattoo on my back. I am female and I've been to Italy where most of the Italians who saw my tattoo were very interested and asked to look at it closer. I'm sure in London they wouldn't even take notice.
