Switzerland/Germany

After I leave Italy in August I am taking the overnight to Bern and spending the morning there and then taking an afternon train to Munich. I will be spending the night there and am looking for a nice place to stay. Around 50-100 dollars. Any suggestions on places to eat and places to see/tours would be appreciated.

Hi Paul, I was in Munich last week. I stayed at the Hotel Amadeus which is on the outskirts of Munich in Neufahrn. There are a lot of places to eat at in Munich, but one place I particularly enjoyed was the Hofbrauhaus. It's a beer hall that locals and tourists alike frequent. As for places to see, there's the Marienplatz, a busy shopping area that has the Glockenspiel. If you do a search on Munich in this forum, there are more detailed posts describing things to do/places to see. Have fun!

Thank you for the advise. I love beer and will definitely check out the beer hall. It looks like I will be arriving there on a Monday. Hopefully everything will be open. I am not going through Bern though. I am going through Zurich and through to Munich. If anyone knows whats good in Zurich I would appreciate any advise. I will only be there a few hours but will have enough time to do a little sightseeing and hopefully have lunch.
