Swiss house hotel

can anyone who has stayed at this B&B in S Kensington provide any helpful info? I'm in the process of deciding where to stay in London and am considering the Swiss House. How close to the nearest tube, would you stay there again, etc. Anything you think would be helpful in making a decision. Thanks for the input. Dru

I haven't stayed there, but it was the one recommended to us by a friend who HAS stayed there! Lots of stairs, but small, clean and friendly. Reasonable, too. Central, I was told!

We stayed there two years ago, and would definitely stay there again. The hotel was charming and it was only a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest tube stop. It was even an easy walk late at night. There were lots of restaurants and pubs nearby, and we found the location very convenient.

We stayed there two years ago, and a couple of my relatives stayed there one year ago. We both loved it. It is in an excellent location, near many restaurants and shops, and has a bus stop just across the street, in addition to its close proximity to the tube.

My only words of advice would be to request a room that faces the back. I think they are a lot quieter.

Tim

We stayed at the Swiss House this June and would highly recommend it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful spending a lot of time talking about the good and bad tourist spots etc. The Gloucester Road tube station is a 5 minute walk; there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Best of all is the neighborhood. Very residential; beautiful streets to walk around. Lots of restaurants and pubs. Laundramat is a couple of stores down. We walked to Harrods and beyond from the hotel. Our room faced the rear of the hotel which had a beautiful view of the garden. Old Brompton Road didn't strike me as being overly busy late at night so even a room towards the front would be good. Morning breakfast consisted of coffee, tea, juice, rolls, cereal. I would eagerly stay there again (especially because it would mean I would be back in that beautiful country)!

When you say the Swiss House Hotel is reasonable, exactly what are you talking about? What is "reasonable" in London?

When we were there in May a standard double was 76 lb; while a oversized double was 86 lb.

We are interested in booking at the Swiss House Hotel. Does anyone have a web site, e-mail address, or phone number of the hotel so I can make a reservation? Thanks

David, did you book directly with Swiss House or go through a travel agent? We're trying to decide if we should use an agent or just book tickets, hotel, etc. ourselves. Just curious. Also, thanks for all the info everyone!!!
