ggnga, that's my problem exactly! I would love to do a home exchange but I doubt anyone would want to come all the way from Europe to spend a week or two near St. Louis!
sprin2, I really enjoyed reading your report. It sounds like you and your family had a wonderful vacation and it was interesting to read about the home exchange and how great it worked out.
Thanks!
Tracy

I have very much enjoyed reading your reports over the past 3 weeks.
Your writing was well organised, interesting and a pleasure to read. Sweden sounds beautiful and you have inspired me now to consider a visit sometime soon.
Tack !

sprin2 - Thank you so much. I just finished reading your final posting.
What a marvelous experience this turned out to be for both families.
I look forward to reading about the next home exchange that you do.

Thank you so much for this report! I really enjoyed it and found a few things I want to make sure I see next month. I'll only be in Stockholm for a few days, but I can't wait!
So glad you had a good time with the home exchange!

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful trip. The boys sound very well behaved and are great little travelers.
SandyBrit .... I haven't watched Rachael Rey in months, but almost immediately after reading your post, I was chanel surfing and guess what? Not only was Rachel's show just starting, but she was making hardboiled eggs.
Put the egggs in the pot, cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, cover and let stand for 10 minutes. I didn't watch the rest of the show so I didn't see what she did with them after that.
Henceforth, they will be known (to me at least) as Grandma's Eggs.
Next chapter please.

Sprin, I have friends living in Sweden (she's an American married to one of their natives), so I was glad to hear more details about family life in Sweden. All those ferries sure sound romantic. And evidently the Gameboy is universal! You sound like appreciative travelers, and I look forward to your reports of your next journey.

Sprin2,
Great report! My Dad and I did a home exchange in Sweden in 2004 (the report is below) renting a car seemed to make your trip very enjoyable. WE tried getting to Sigtuna by public transportation and could not get there. What suburb were you living in? The few hours of darkness were hard to get used to.

Yeadonite, I had read the post about your Stockholm exchange before we left and enjoyed it very much. Y'all are a hoot! As we found going to Birka, Swedish transportation can be tricky. Our other forays went smoothly and we found the trains, subway, and buses really well-organized.
Our exchange was in Vallentuna and it included a car, although we had car trouble on the final day we were using it. We rented a car for our last 5 days when we had left the exchange to travel on our own. We still miss Sweden, it is a glorious, friendly country!
