Bookmarking. Can't read it all in one sitting-too sad. You write beautifully, AA.

Thanks again to all of you for your comments.

kerouac, you've posted from time to time about caring for your mother. Your photo sums it all up perfectly.

Kerouac, I will say the same thing I said to AnselmAdorne; your photograph brings honor to both to your Mother and to yourself.

I was deeply touched.

Anselm's daughter here. This is my first time posting, but to all who have commented, I've been following along with your posts and I, too, have been so touched by all of your lovely words for our family. I felt I should also say thank you.

I was also compelled to comment after listening to Juliette Greco sing Sous le ciel de Paris and hearing the following in the concluding verse:

Mais le ciel de Paris
n'est pas longtemps cruel

As AA described so eloquently, Paris won't stay tout gris forever.

TheRoo,

Thanks for your kind words, and the wonderfully optimistic song lyrics.

I'm reading this while at work and I just want to put my head on the desk and sob. What a lovely report and a beautiful tribute to Susan. Thank you to you and your daughter Anselm.

I love the Place des Vosges, it's one of my favourite places in Paris, I will look on it very differently next time I am there.

Well, once again I should say thanks to all who have posted in the last few days. It is very, very comforting.

LowCountryIslander, a belated thank you for your help in planning the trip that Kate and I made to Italy at Christmas.

One more thing: for those who really like photos of Paris (and Reims), there is one more gallery of Richard's best:

AA...you are very welcome, it is always my pleasure to share travel information!

And, Richard's photos are stunning! I do believe my mom and I had the same tour guide as you did at Veuve Cliquot when we were in Reims last May!
