Suggestions for May '03 trip
Ok everyone, I need some help. You all were so great helping me plan my Italy trip last year, I tohught you might be able to help me with this year's destination.

So far I've been to Paris for 1 week, Barcelona 1 week, Italy 2 weeks. I'm looking for somewhere to go for 7-10 days towrads the end of May. Germany & Austria are out, I'm saving them for another trip. Turkey is out. Prague is probably off the list, since from what I hear the Jewish Cemetary is closed, and I wanted to combine it with a trip to Vienna anyway. London in lower on the list, since I expect to live there at some point soon.

So that leaves: Ireland, Scandanavia, the Netherlands, the south of France, Greece and? Anybody have a destination I absolutely must try? I'm pretty open--I enjoy museums and cities, loved Florence, like small towns where I can just wander and hang out, but need a little more than that for a whole week. Any other info needed? I'm 22, my bf is 26. I speak French, he speaks a little German.

I'll be flying from NYC, and would prefer somewhere I can get to on a direct flight.
Thanks everbody!

May is, in the opinion of many, the very best month for the Netherlands. Since you are young (and strong and fit and adventurous, naturally), may I suggest you take a week-long bike trip from Amsterdam to Arnhem (one of the world's best art museums in the National Park Hohe Veluwe), then down to Maastricht and back to Amsterdam via Rotterdam, Delft, Leiden, and the tulip fields between Leiden and Haarlem? You can use the train for some of the legs of the trip. It may rain somtimes, but there are great cafes for drying out! ;-))
But since I live in the Netherlands, I'd pick Greece.
Jess- I have 2 suggestions. First, I'd opt for the south of France. You can fly direct to Nice from NY. You speak French, the weather will be great, the high season will not have started yet and you can stay in one of the smaller hill villages if you'd like (St. Paul de Vence, Biot, Eze etc.)
Alternatively, you could check out some of the discount websites & see what "deals" are being offered at the time you want to go. This could help you decide.
Hope this helps.
