Suggestions for 70th Birthday Dinner in Edinburgh

Seafood is the favorite, but not a total necessity. For this one, food and ambiance are more important than cost.
Many thanks.

Hmmm, we did mostly take aways there. I am interested to see what ideas others post.

Happy BIrthday!

For a special meal I'd choose Kitchin. Michelin starred, lovely room, excellent seafood (and everything else)

It might be old fashioned (as in very) but I think the ambience at the Cafe Royal's Oyster Bar is hard to beat. Find a quiet table and imagine you're in the restaurant scene from Chariots of Fire.

I liked The Kitchin too. Michelin starred but very casual ambience. Great complimentary bits and bobs like squid ink crispbreads and sourdough, stools just for your handbag, and lovely cocktails.

Thank you so, so much. Maybe we'll try them both!
