Hiya folks!<BR>Lost my last post so I'll do it again...<BR>Flying out of Ottawa in late April, early may for two weeks in Ireland. Two university students, don't have very expensive tastes. We're just looking for a nice countryside, good Guinness and great music. Does anyone have any advice on how to make the trip as cheap as possible??? Like with hostel passes or anything like that. Thank you.

Brian,<BR><BR>I have never heard of a hostel pass over here but you should contact the tourist board. Also it's a great way to travel cheaper is to take a &quot;Paddy Wagon&quot; tour from Dublin. I can't find the site but do a search on google. There are 2 different trips. You will stay in hostels along the way and be on a small van/bus with other people travelling. Anyone I know who took it enjoyed themselves.

Paddy Wagon tours... yeah I saw that somewhere, I'll take a look, thanks.<BR>I was on the Ireland Hostel page and they mentioned the Rambler and Rover passes, I saw these on the rail website too, transportation for a week or two and either discounts or free lodging (with a lump sum before hand obviously). Do you know how these work at all?

Rambler passes are in Dublin for public Transport so I assumes the rover isthe cvountrywide trains. I would not pay a lump sum in advance for accommodation. There are nice hostels in each city and you can get a listing probably throught Bord Failte (Tourist Board) and book on your own. This would probably be cheaper. In dublin there are 2 that I know of: Abbey Hostel and Kinwsale house. Both are good safe locations. AS well in temple bar there is a hostel but |I do not have the name. Perfoect location for 2 students who want to sample the nightlife. Avoid Gardiner Street for accommodation when in dublen. I fell many of the places are OK to stay in but walking at night for 2 fellas is not the greatest here. <BR><BR>ANother place to contact is the USIT office in Dublin as they do student travel bu may help with the Irish end for you. <BR><BR>Good luck<BR><BR>

Thank you very much, I just checked out the Paddy wagon tours and it looks like a pretty good deal. We're thinking that might be the right way to go, a six day tour of the south and then we still have a week left over to do our own thing.<BR>Thanks for the help Siobhan!
