Stresa or Baveno in September
Want to just pretty much relax the first four nites of our September trip and have narrowed our hotel choices to either the Hotel Rigoli in Baveno or the Italie et Suisse in Stresa. Any preference for one over the other?

We have stayed at the Hotel Rigoli a couple of years ago. Here my review:
- Baveno is an excellent place. There is very good access to the Borromeic Islands. From Hotel Rigoli, you walk maybe 300 meters to the boat dock.
- Hotel Rigoli is one of the very few hotels with direct access to the lake. Hotel Rigoli is located in a very quiet neighborhood. The hotel has a private beach. There is no promenade, no road between hotel and lake. We enjoyed swimming, and we enjoyed sitting on the beach and sipping drinks.
- Food was good. Very authentic Italian.
- We liked the bar a lot. Quite good selection of drinks. I remember, of course, limoncello and also a good single malt. Our favourite wines were Chiaretto and Lugana.
- Rooms were okay for 3-star-level. When we stayed there, we had no air condition. We stayed in July, and it was very hot. September might be okay without a/c, but July was not pleasant.
- Would we go there again? Yes, quite certainly, but not in July and August (but in July and August we would avoid Lago Maggiore anyway, regardless of hotel).
