Strasbourg Christmas Market- 1 day too early

We are visiting Colmar, France on Thanksgiving Day (U.S. holiday) and staying 1 night. Our plan was to stop in Strasbourg Friday on the way home thinking we would hit the Christmas market, but I just saw it doesn't start until the Saturday. Should we go anyways??

Strasbourg is wonderful at all times. And you can see them setting up the market to annoy and disappoint you.

We spent Christmas in Strasbourg a few years ago and were surprised to see there is not just one Christmas market, but many dotted around the city. The main market may not be open but others may. I don't know when the American Thanksgiving Day is but you could check dates on the Strasbourg visitor tourism website or even email them and ask if any of the booths will be open when you are there.

Bahha!!! That is my fear, kerouac! I love the markets so will just pester all the vendors setting up..."Can I shop now? Can I? Can I?"

Go any way. It is well worth it. You can still enjoy the food, the drink, the decorations and the lights. The atmosphere will be festive.
