storing luggage

Hi..I'm taking the train from Rome to Naples and want to explore Naples for a day. That evening I need to go on to Sorrento. Can I store luggage in the Naples train station for a day? Is it advisable? Thanks. Helene

I haven't been there yet myself, but from info on other threads:
yes and yes.

Try doing a search on this forum.

Yes there is a manned luggage storage (Deposito Bagagli) down the hall from the last track (maybe #26).
The directional info signs in the station show square box and within it an outline of a suitcase with a handle on top.

I forgot, yes it is safe.
But rudely ignore anyone in the station that approaches you even if they look like a train station employee (blue smock).
It's safe but they will hassle you for money for something as simple as pointing you to your train or even a ticket window. Regards, Walter
