STOKE-ON-KENT

Will be in London and plan to go to Stoke-on Kent as it is the china capital of the UK.Does anyone know how the prices are at the potteries. Special interest is "Portmeirion " china. Will appreciate any advice on purchasing this sort of thing.
I think that maybe you mean Stoke on Trent! Kent is a county to the South East of London and Trent refers to the river Trent which is where Stoke is and is NW of Birmingham, about 160 miles NW of London. Stoke's main pottery connections are Wedgwood, Spode and Minton.

Portmeirion is a village in NW Wales, 240 miles from London and the nearest town is Porthmadog.

For information on Portmeirion, see
http://www.carol.net/dolphin/china/uk.htm
