Does this plan make sense? (Please forgive any spelling errors. I am just beginning my research) We will be staying in Stresa for the months of March, April and May 2024. We want a slow, relaxing, non-tourist, no-lines second trip to Italy. My husband is an excellent cook so we will be cooking at the Airbnb a lot and entertaining family and friends. But we do want to take day or two day trips and experience the lake area and Switzerland. We will have a car. 4 adults in their 60s and 70s. Can we drive to Tirano and board the Bernina Express to Chur. Stay one night in Chur and then go the other way to return to Tirano. If so, what boutique hotels or 3 to 4 star hotels would you suggest? Restaurants?
