Staying at Pont de Cause in the Dordogne

Is this a good location to stay in the Dordogne?
We are looking at La Tour de Cause B&B.

We are also looking at Le Granges Haute which is in St Crepin.

Is one location better than the other?

Thanks,
dk

La Tour de Cause B&B is near Castelnaud-la-Chapelle.

What time of year are you going?

I would choose Les Granges Hautes, especially if you're going in high season.

I can't recall whether La Tour de Cause is in upper or lower Castelnaud, but there's not much going on in Castelnaud other than the chateau (which is wonderful) and a handful of tourist shops in the upper town, and a beach and cafe and grocery store and parking lot in the lower town. And it's crowded getting in and out of town in summer.

I would go with the Pont de Cause. The owners - very friendly and helpful Americans from California have done an excellent renovation of the property plus each of the five rooms has its own separate access from the courtyard. Regulation sized, queen size beds and large private bathrooms. Can't beat it with a stick. My wife and I are booked in for a couple of weeks this April.
They are located in lower Castelnaud so there are no parking issues.
