Staying at CDG airport before a flight

we are once again fortunate to be going to France in the Spring. We plan to stay at the airport before catching an early fight to return to the US. We normally stay at the Sheraton for convenience. Does anyone have other hotels to suggest?

thanks.

For an overnight before an early flight, we have stayed twice at the Ibis CDG Airport adjacent to Terminal 3. The rooms are small and basic with wonderful beds. The bathrooms are small too, but adequate. It's a quick walk into T3 for the CDGVAL tram to other terminals. And, the price has been very reasonable - around €100 per night.

Accor also operates an Ibis in the adjacent village of Roissy, if the airport branch is full. The chain has implanted several of its other brands there, served by frequent shuttle to Terminal Two.

The Ibis, the Ibis Styles and the Novotel at Roissypôle at the CDG1 RER station are worthy of consideration. There is also a Hilton there.

We have stayed at the Hilton several times and I like the convenience of being able to walk to a tramway station between terminals. You can walk at your own convenience rather than wait for the shuttles. Once the station was closed and we were able to walk back to get the shuttle. The Hilton has a nice breakfast as well.

My husband and I spent one night at Citizen M at CDG in October before a flight home and had a surprisingly good experience. The rooms are quite small -- they feel like an Airstream trailer in outer space, so we got one for each of us for the sake of marital harmony. I thought the whole thing fascinating ... the hotel is designed to get you out of your room and into the lounge/dining area to mingle. We had dinner in the lounge and a lively conversation with a Canadian couple sitting next to us. I was also surprised by how many people of a certain age (including us) were there. It's a quick cab ride to the terminal. If you're looking for something outside the generic hotel experience, you may enjoy it.
