Starbucks started out in Seattle and is still headquartered there.
That is where the espresso craze in America started, at least in the early '90s and even before.
Starbucks has pretty much killed off most independent coffee houses in most American cities.
Peete's is expanding but I'm not sure they're even on the East Coast.
