That url doesn't seem to be working now but if you go to :
www.provenceweb.com,
click on Villes and select S and then ST REMY and below gites and there's an apartment for two at the mas de valentine.

Correction: click on VILLAGES and then Bouche de Rhone and then St Remy and below Holiday rentals and gites.

As always - great info and resources - thanks! Car rental company suggestions? Are the rental companies near the train station in Avignon?

All of the car rental companies have offices at the TGV Avignon station - and they're all located in the parking lot just outside and down the steps.

There are two train stations in Avignon - the new TV one outside of town in the Courtine area. The old station is just outside the city walls, and still has minimal TGV service (I think there are two trains a day that go into that station). There are shuttle buses between the two - a short ride of about ten minutes.

I rent autos from www.novarentacar.com. They broker for many. Last 2 from Europcar which has office in parking lot of Avignon TGV. Good cars, good
service, best prices I found.
I stay at a studio apartment Residence Les Olivers in St. Remy. It has a beautiful garden, air conditioning, shaded car park, security gate and very reasonable price. The Reys are so nice. It has a sitting room, dining area, full kitchen, and bedroom, larger units have an upstairs also with 3 twin beds. The InterMarche is only a block away. website http://residencelesolivers.free.fr/
The center of town is a few blocks. When I was last there the cherries were ripe. Madam Rey came around with a large basket of just picked cherries for me. They book by the week but twice I have gotten a 5 day and a 6 day rental instead of the week. Never hurts to ask.

Have a wonderful trip.
