St-Chappelle Concert Tickets
I have seen several mention purchasing advance tickets for evening concerts at Sainte Chapelle in Paris. Can anyone direct me to a website where I might purchase tickets online or otherwise find out about advance purchase? Thanks.

www.ampconcerts.com

I was unable in late June to make a reservation through the site, but used the e-mail address from the site and received a positive response. However, since our reservations are for early Sept. I can not yet report on actual event.

try these
www.pariscope.fr (for concerts, look under "musique")
www.ticket-finders.com/ You'll see a calendar in English as to what operas, concerts, and ballets are being staged in Paris
www.leconcertographe.com

For Ste. Chapelle concert info, call
(0)1 43 54 30 09.
http://www.ampconcerts.com/eng.html
the above page is in English.
I used the email service last year.
My name was on the list and I appeared as directed to "take off my ticket" and had no difficulty paying in cash and going on inside. I think you will like the performance. We heard the Violins of France. I would hear them again in a heart beat!! Too bad I am there and gone before the concerts start this year. Bad planning!!

Bob (and others) -

Please be aware that just because the ampconcerts site does not list performances does NOT mean that there are not concerts being held at St-Chappelle. It simply means that these particular performers are not going to be there on the dates in question.

Concerts are still performed, usually twice each night, virtually year-round. I recommend going to see the stained glass during the day and buying tickets at the St-Chappelle box office. Did this in April and enjoyed it very much.

Daniel, we used www.ticketnet.fr to purchase tickets for a St. Chappele concert in May. It's easy to use (with an English version) and the tickets are mailed to you certified mail within 5 days. The fee for this was very modest and it was great to have actual tickets in hand rather then relying on a reservation.

I would have referenced you to our recent Paris Trip Report for details, but it seems to have been deleted. Oh well.

We bought tickets to a concert in la Sainte Chappelle in April throught the FNAC site - le billeterie. Paid with my Visa card and gave our hotel as mail-out address - they arrived the same day we did. I have to say though that there were plenty of tickets available for sale if you arrived early.

Thanks to all for your help. Unfortunately, most of the sites you offered do not give concert information for the month of September when I will be in Paris. The ampconcerts site was simply one page which appeared not to be "navigable" for me. I did send an e-mail request for information, as the e-mail button was the only one that seemed to allow me to navigate. No dates, concerts or times were listed.

The other sites were great, but yielded no results for the late September dates I am interested in.

Thanks again for you help.

Note what Lesli said. When my wife and I went to Paris we found nothing on the web site for the dates we would be there. So we went to Sainte Chapelle and just outside the ticket booth for the church we found a concert ticket table. Here you can check all the concerts taking place and buy your tickets.

I tried ticket finder and had no luck turning up any classical music performances. It as if the site does not know such things exist. Ticketnet was no better: no listings at all appeared for classical stuff. So if you folks are finding classical concert listing on those two sites for September, you know something I don't and I wish you would tell me what it is!!

I posted earlier about the Fnac site (http://www.fnac.fr) but I referred to the 'billeterie' when i should havew said 'spectacles'. Go to 'spectacles' then "other spectacle' -> musique classique. You will need to go through 3-4 pages to get to la sainte chappelle.

OK. At the site for FNAC I found dates and places for concerts in Paris.
Now, how do I order tickets?
All of the ones I looked at said
la reservation sur Internet est fermée.
My French is not all that good, but that says to me that reservations over the Internet are closed. Right? Or has my non existent French betrayed me??

I just checked the site and used the 4 Seasons at la Sainte Chappelle for 8th September at 7:15 (I think that was the date). I booked a ticket and followed through until it called for my card number and address for final validation - it all worked fine for me. If the is a green symbol to the lkeft of the name "reservable" then you should be able to book/buy from the site. Good luck.

When we were in Paris, we just phoned up on the day and got tickets...quite good seats.
The phone person spoke English, if that's a concern.

The concert we saw was the Violons de France (playing a selection of classics, not the 4 seasons) but I think a singing concert would've been nicer.

Does anyone know what happened to ticketavenue.com. I used them April 2002 but can't get the site to open nor the jador.com which was also listed in my acknowledgment e:mail. I have written the company but no response yet. Is it out of business? Anyone?
