Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter..... Which is your favorite season?

For myself, it is definitely Fall, particularly from mid-October through early December. Here in New York City, the air gets crisp, the winds blow and the leaves crackle under your feet. It's a great lead- up to my second most favorite season, Winter, when the city is covered with snow it's the greatest to be indoors with a hot cup of coffee and the New York Times.

Doing my part to shove those idiotic questions to the bottom...my favourite season is spring. Even though the autumn is neat, I know it bodes of bad weather to come. I hate seeing all the trees, bushes, flowers die - I love the spring because it's not too hot, all the buds are coming out and I know the bad weather is behind us.

There is nothing like a fall day like the ones we have been having here in northern NJ, along the Hudson. The trees are in full color, it smells like fall!We can sleep like babies without a/c going, cuddled under the comforter again. And the holidays are ahead and there is so much to plan for..So Fall is my favorite..although after a long cold dreary winter, Spring is pretty nice to see

Definitely summer! Love the feel f the warm sun on my face and being able to be outside all day and even in the evenings without a jacket. I am a true southerner (though I live in the north now but not for long) and anything below 72 degrees, I am wearing a jacket and would much prefer temps in the 80s. Thought when it starts getting over 90 with 80% humidity, I have to jump in the pool (always fun) or take breaks in the A/C!

I agree with Canuck--spring is my favorite. Everything is starting to come to life again, the air seems sweet and balmy and daylight savings starts. It is the wonderful, gentle harbinger of summer which I also love.

Here in California there isn't the real difference to seasons you feel in the midwest and east, turning of the leaves, etc. and granted our winters are mild in comparison, but the fog and dreary days of rain are depressing to me. I feel better when the sun is shining.

j

Frank, so happy to read a thread from another Fall fanatic! And, Winter nearly is a tie for favorite with me. I love any weather that I can put on a cozy sweater and breathe in cool, clean air. (Not much of that in my office right now.)

But, in Chicago, our four seasons really are Summer, Fall, Winter, and Road Construction. Not much of a Spring around here, usually. Of course, if you ask my dad, there's baseball, football, basketball, and the perennial season of auto racing.

Tammy: I guess they don't have seasons in Europe. Are there seasons where you live?

Tammy-maybe Europeans don't care to answer? Is there a rule about that? If someone posts a question-do the answers have to come from an equal amount of Europeans/Americans? Then what about the Europeans living in the States? Which catagory would they answer under? This is all too complicated and difficult ~ I think only people who can figure this out should answer this post.

Summer for me too! I'm with Beth-when temps are in the 70's I have a sweater or jacket on!
I like to travel in the Summer as well.
We did one trip to Europe in March and said "never again!". Too cold! I am willing to pay more for long warmer days. Having to walk around in coats, gloves, and hats trying to stay warm is no vacation for me.
Shadow
Definitely Fall!! I love October through December. The air is crisp; there's a little chill in the air, but not too much; it becomes sweatshirt weather; the family gathers inside together earlier in the evening because it gets dark outside -- very cozy. Fall just makes me feel GOOD! (On the other hand, I have a good friend who gets depressed in the Fall.)
And, I love anticipating the upcoming holidays . . . Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!

Spring is my second favorite; Winter, third; and Summer -- definitely last!! I hate the 90+ degree weather and humidity wehre I live. It's simply draining to me to get outside very much. Plus, I'm not a swimmer, so the great outdoors doesn't hold much allure for me in the good ol' summertime.

Oh yes we have seasons here too. Im from Scotland and my favourite is springtime. To see the cherry blossom and to hear the blackbird singing, to know that the longer days are coming in and summer will be here soon

I like Autumn tons and tons. It's so crisp and beautiful! Maybe it's because I'm a snow-lovin' Agent, but all summer long I just can't wait for the cool, clean breezes of October!

I probably in the minority here, but I winter is my favorite time of year! I just love the way the world looks the morning after a really good snow storm. I also love Christmas! The cold doesn't bother me unless it gets really cold and for me that means below 10 degrees farenheit.
