Special Moments in Rome
One of my most special moments in Rome was being able to go away with my brother to this wonderful city. While planning our sighseeing we were very excited about seeing the Trevi Fountain.
We landed in Rome, found our hotel, bought a slice of pizza and a Fanta, and began to walk...not knowing where we were heading...the first thing we hear was water...could it be? We walked through a narrow street and saw it - my most treasured experience was being jet lagged, eating a delicious slice of pizza and viewing the Trevi Fountain - this monumentous piece of history with my big brother.
Needless to say, I was left enchanted by the Eternal city and am quite looking forward to my trip this summer.
I would love to read your experiences.

My wife and I spent two weeks in Rome in October, 2003. It was my second trip to Rome and her third.
We liked the walk from the Colosseum through the forum to the Campidoglio and its museums, and then to Trajan's column. If you like art, you can combine this walk with a visit to Michaelangelo's statue of Moses in the church San Pietro in Vinculi off Via Cavour, a block or so from the Colosseum metro. You should also see the Pantheon and the beautiful piazzas scattered through the city center, particularly the Piazza del Popolo. Finally, again if you like art, look up Caravaggio in your guide books and try to see every painting by him in Rome. If you do, you'll see a lot of good art and a lot of good churches.
Rome is the most wonderful city in the world, and I'm sure you'll have a great trip.

Just returned from 12 days in Italy, Rome was the first stop. We loved the Trevi too, bought some picnic supplies and ate a late snack on the steps.
Also thought the Borghese gardens we a great place. Eat at Ristorante Il Gabriello.

The last day of our 17 day trip to Paris, Switzerland and Italy with my parents. We were in Rome and my father and I spent the afternoon together strolling across the bridges arm in arm, stopping at a cafe for coffe and pastries. I will never forget that.
