Special B&B in Edinburgh

Hello...my daughter and I are doing a special trip to Scotland in Mid-September. She especially loves Bed and Breakfasts..with alot of charm. We will not have a car and would like to be in City Center or Old Town. My budget would be under $200 USD including breakfast. I really would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

There are lots of hotels but relatively few B&Bs in Old town and near Princes Street. There are MANY B&Bs just a bit farther out and there is excellent bus service. Here are a few good/very central ones.

My favorite is CastleView . . . But you must be OK w/ lots of stairs and no lift

Check out my web page on our trip to Scotland. We stayed in B&B's almost exclusively. It's the way to go in Scotland. The quality of the B&B's in Scotland is fantastic.

In Edinburgh, we stayed at "14 Hart St." named after its address. It's lovely and in a great location. The hosts are lovely although they are both working people and you'll only see them in the evening. Another very popular B&B is "Gerald's Place", which is almost always full. Right now, these two are ranked numbers 2 and 3 on tripadvisor.

Check out the tripadvisor page with Edinburgh's B&B's. There are quite a few and most within your busget.

I also like Gerald's Place -- but it is nearly impossible to get into . . .

http://www.sawdays.co.uk/accommodati...ryColl=Britain would be a good place to start for selecting a B&B in the UK

Can anybody tell us if they have finished ripping up Princes Street?

When we were there, the construction was at its height and it was a real challenge just to stroll there without choking on the dust.

I'd also like to recommend 14 Hart St. Absolutely beautiful property, lovely hosts, delicious breakfast, and great location.

No it is a bloody mess at the moment , the traffic is being diverted at the east end and quite frankly i have no idea how it;s going as i stay well out of the city center when i can. the Haymarket area is also a complete mess with diversons all over the place. they are redoing all the work they did a while ago because they made such a mess of it.
walking along Prices street is possible as there is no traffic but there are works going on along most of the lenth of the street.
